Turkish company is willing to invest 200 million of euros in the construction of wind farms in Belarus.
The Turkish company Global Wind Power is prepared to invest 200 million of euros in the construction of wind farms in Belarus, it was told to BelTA journalist in the press service of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus.
The project terms were discussed recently with the chairman of SCST Igor Voitova and Turkish investors in Belarus. "The prospects for projects realization of Belarus in alternative energy particularly deals with the construction of wind power stations", - was told to the press service.
The following places are being considered as possible points of the construction (the Minsk district, town of Volozhin and others). The planned investment volume is around EUR 100 million. "The amount depends on the size of the area under the station construction and it may rise up to 200 million of euros in the future – according to what was said in the SCST. Turkish businessmen said that the proximity of power lines of 110 kV with access roads and open area are the project prerequisites.
The Global Wind Power has positioned itself as a "green" company in Turkey and the EU markets.
Belarus is ready to occupy a niche in the field of the alternative energy. The Turkish company has an extensive experience and capabilities in the field of wind energy and willing to work in high-tech area in Belarus. During the negotiations It was noted that Belarus is interested in implementing with investors projects in various areas of alternative energy: using wind, solar, and water.
