Li Ka-Shin has offered to buy British Northumbrian nearly for $ 4 billions.

The richest businessman of Hong Kong - Li Ka-Shin continues to buy British utility company. The businessman has aimed this time at purchasing of Northumbrian Water that provides water supply and related services in the county of Northumberland in the north-east of England. According to the announcement of the British company, Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings (CKI) has sent a preliminary offer to buy the business Northumbrian Water for 2.4 billion of pounds (3.9 billion of dollars) on July 1st. Previously, CKI invested into two British utility companies operating in the water supply. CKI owns a business Cambridge Water and 4.75 % stake in the capital of Southern Water (the shares of both companies are not traded on an exchange). CKI has agreed to sell the Cambridge Water, Northumbrian before sending a binding purchasing offer. Analysts believe that this step is necessary to obtain a permit for the deal from the UK regulatory authorities. Northumbrian Water - is a British utility company which shares are included in the estimated base of FTSE 250. The company serves 2.6 million people.
